Kling 4.0 launches: 30-second clips in one pass, with up to 15 references
Kling 4.0 officially launched on 15 October 2026, Kuaishou announced on 16 October: native generation of 3 to 30 seconds in a single pass — double Kling 3.0’s 15-second ceiling — with Omni Reference taking up to 15 reference assets and up to 10 keyframes.
What happened
- Kuaishou announced on 16 October 2026 that Kling 4.0, the new-generation video generation model of Kling AI, officially launched on 15 October 2026.
- Kling 4.0’s upgrades centre on three priorities, according to Kuaishou: realism, control and professional quality, with breakthroughs in steadier large-scale motion, native generation of up to 30 seconds in a single pass, and Omni Reference.
- Omni Reference supports combinations of up to 15 reference assets and up to 10 keyframe inputs, according to Kuaishou, helping creators turn a single idea into a complete work.
- Kling 4.0 supports dual-channel stereo audio and lip sync across multiple languages, according to launch reporting of Kling’s announcement, and its capabilities are wired into Kling MCP and CLI workflows.
- 10-bit HDR output at 1080p/4K and video extension up to 2 minutes were marked “coming soon” by Kling at launch, according to launch reporting. An enterprise/developer API was also described as coming soon at launch; Kling later announced the 4.0 API rolling out from 21 October.
What it means
- Thirty seconds in one pass is the headline for short-form creators: fewer stitches between clips for a continuous scene, and keyframes plus references give more control over keeping a character and scene consistent across a longer take.

What we don’t know yet
- Kling’s own per-credit pricing for 4.0 was not published in the launch announcement. Check kling.ai before spending.
- The “coming soon” items (10-bit HDR, 2-minute extension) had no launch date in the announcement.
